Bukkehornmakeren
/
The bukkehorn is Norway's oldest instrument: a goat horn with finger holes, used on the mountain farms for centuries and still heard in Nordic music today.
I make them for my band Tales of Dhvaras here in Norway and for a few selected projects. It is slow work with knife, horn and ear, and it belongs to an older world than the one on this screen. Here I share what it teaches me: the horns, from raw horn off the farm to finished instrument, and the music they are made for.
